RV Toilet Market Analysis
I. Background
With the development of society and the improvement of people's living standards, traveling has become the first choice for people's leisure time. More and more people are starting to take a "travel on a whim". As a mobile home, RVs are undoubtedly the best choice because they are comfortable, convenient and economical. The number and increment of RVs at home and abroad are showing an upward trend year by year.
II. Market Analysis
1. Analysis of the Current Situation of the Domestic RV Market
In 2023, 14,365 RVs were registered in the RV industry, an increase of 22.41% compared with 2022. In the face of uncertain economic conditions, the RV industry in 2023 showed a positive side.
2. Analysis of the current status of the international RV market
1) Current RV market share
By the end of 2023, the global RV market will have a stock of approximately 24.47 million vehicles, with nearly one million new units added each year. The main production and consumption markets for RVs are the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, South Korea, etc.
The North American market, mainly the United States and Canada, and the European market account for about 90% of the market share. The European market accounts for 28%, of which Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are the top three in Europe, followed by Austria, Slovenia, Belgium and Finland. The Australian market accounts for about 6.3%, which is the largest market outside Europe and the United States.
2) Current status of RV exports
In 2023, the total export volume of RVs in my country will be about 32,133 units, which will continue to maintain a high growth rate. As a national foreign trade upgrading base (RV), Rongcheng has ranked first in the country in terms of the total export value of RVs for many years. The export volume accounts for about 70% of the country, and the RV models involved in the export are mainly trailer RVs and tent RVs. In addition to the Australian market, the shares of Japan, South Korea, the United States and other places are gradually increasing.
Ⅲ. Demand and pain points
1. Demand:
Toilets are indispensable sanitary facilities in our daily lives. Comfortable toilets can bring people pleasant enjoyment, especially for RV enthusiasts.
2. Pain points:
1) At present, most toilets in RVs are flush-type, which consumes a lot of domestic water.
2) The sewage after flushing is directly discharged outside the car, causing environmental pollution.
3) The black water tank generally needs to be dumped every 3-4 days. Frequent dumping of the black water tank has become the biggest worry for RV enthusiasts.
4) In order to avoid frequent dumping of the black water tank, the current toilet in the RV has almost become a decoration. People choose to camp near public toilets, which greatly affects the travel happiness index.
IV. Solution
Our company has boldly invested in scientific research and development to produce a biodegradable smart toilet for RVs that does not require water flushing. This toilet has a beautiful appearance and a suitable size. It uses dry-wet separation biodegradation technology to degrade feces into carbon dioxide and water.
The detailed plan is as follows:
1. Feces Treatment
The feces fall into the degradation chamber, and biological bacteria are used to degrade the feces into carbon dioxide and a small amount of water. The carbon dioxide is discharged through the ventilation system. The water evaporates into water vapor and is discharged together with the carbon dioxide, and there is no residual component in the degradation chamber.
2. Urine Treatment
The upper part of the toilet is equipped with a urine separation channel and a urine filtration and sterilization device. The urine enters the sterilization and filtration device for treatment and flows into the gray water tank for dilution and then is discharged together.
3. Pull-Out Degradation Chamber
According to the pull-out structure of the existing RV black water tank, a rear-opening pull-out degradation chamber is designed. It can be directly adapted to most of the existing RVs in the market without changing the existing structure. When replacing the filler, just open the black water tank door and pull out the degradation chamber, which is convenient and quick.
4. Seat Heating And Buttocks Cleaning
According to the needs of different groups of people, a smart toilet lid is designed with a buttocks cleaning function.
5. Double-Axis Stirring System
A double-axis stirring system is used in the silo to facilitate full contact between excrement and microbial bacteria. Make the stirring more uniform and decompose faster.
6. Exhaust System
An exhaust system is added to the toilet. It can continuously provide fresh air for the degradation of biological bacteria. And discharge the generated carbon dioxide and water vapor.
7. Rotating Toilet
The toilet base can rotate freely 180 degrees. It is suitable for installation in the narrow environment of the RV.
Ⅴ. Our advantages
We are the first high-tech enterprise engaged in the research and development and production of biodegradable toilets for RVs. After more than a year of research and development, testing, and continuous improvement, we have gradually formed a mature and stable product. Compared with traditional RV toilets, our RV-specific biodegradable smart toilet has the following advantages:
Traditional RV Toilet |
Biodegradable smart RV toilet |
The black water tank has limited capacity and needs to be dumped every 3-4 days. |
One filling can be used for 1-2 months. |
When dumping, the excrement can be directly seen and contacted, causing taste and visual pollution. |
When the packing is replaced, the excrement has been completely degraded and there is no odor or discomfort. |
It is necessary to find a special toilet for dumping, which is inconvenient and increases the workload of sanitation workers, who are looked down upon. |
The used filler is an organic fertilizer that can be poured directly into any green belt, beside a tree, in a garden or vegetable patch, etc. |
Degradation agents are needed to remove odors. Currently, the price of degrading agents is relatively high (about 100 yuan per month). |
A biological bacteria filler costs about $17 and can be used for 1-2 months. |
Since the flushing tank takes up a lot of space, the seat area is small and uncomfortable to use. |
No flush tank is needed, and limited space can be fully utilized. The seat is basically the same size as a household toilet, making it truly as comfortable as home. |
Incineration toilets are too expensive and consume too much energy. This results in a very tight power reserve in RVs, affecting normal electricity consumption. |
The price is moderate, and the average daily electricity consumption is 0.1-0.2 kWh, which does not affect normal electricity consumption. |
VI. Conclusion
To sum up, the research, development, production and sales of this product are feasible. It not only solves the existing prominent pain points of RVs, but also complies with the basic policies of the country's low-carbon environmental protection and sustainable development. It has obvious advantages and broad market prospects.
